WHAT IS CRACKER NIGHT

Just the most exciting and fun night in TASSIE!!!!!

Discover the history and tradition behind Tasmania’s most exciting night of the year.

What is Cracker Night all about?

Cracker Night is something pretty special here in Tasmania. We are lucky enough to have the privilege of buying and using fireworks, and there really is no other night like it anywhere else in Australia.

It is the kind of night where backyards light up, bonfires are crackling, and families and mates gather together just to enjoy the moment. Growing up, the Bright Star family went to all sorts of Cracker Night shows and we still remember standing there completely mesmerised. Colourful rockets shooting sky high, Roman candles firing, Catherine wheels spinning, and those big cakes lighting up the whole night sky.

It is loud, bright and exciting, but more than anything it brings people together. If you have never experienced Cracker Night before, we genuinely recommend giving it a go. There is something special about it that is hard to explain until you are standing there watching it for yourself.

Let’s make memories that will last a lifetime.

Why should I celebrate Cracker Night?

Because it is part of who we are in Tassie.

Cracker Night has been a tradition for generations. Kids who once stood wide-eyed watching fireworks are now bringing their own children and even their grandkids to celebrate. We are seeing three and four generations standing side by side under the same night sky, sharing the same excitement.

It is not only about fireworks. It is about reliving memories, creating new ones, and having a proper reason to bring everyone together for something fun.

If you have never joined in before, you really are missing out. It is laughter, noise, colour, excitement and that feeling you only get when you are surrounded by the people who matter most.

Come and be part of it.

Cracker Night in Tasmania is more than just fireworks lighting up the sky. Across towns from north to south, communities come together. Neighbours chat. Friends reconnect. Bonfires glow. Everything slows down for a while and people simply enjoy being present.
